Mark and Beth Hanson – Native Californians with roots in the wine industry. Beth’s great grandfather, Pietro Carlo Rossi, was the original oenologist at Sonoma County’s historic Italian Swiss Colony. Trained as a chemist in Piemonte, Italy, Rossi revolutionized California winemaking in the 19th century and was recognized in France for the quality of his Zinfandel and sparkling wine. They currently live on a 40 acre farm, Bricoleur Vineyards – a 21 acre Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyard, on Starr Road in Windsor, California
Atlas Vineyard Management is well known for quality farming practices to produce first class vineyards, as evidenced by the Wine Spectator's top 100 wines of 2011. Atlas is unique in that they farm in multiple regions including the Central Coast; Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino counties; continuing up into the Willamette Valley in Oregon and the Columbia Gorge in Washington. The knowledge that they gain through farming in such diverse locations is invaluable to Kick Ranch. Atlas's goal is to produce the highest quality grapes from each vineyard site using the best sustainable practices.
